Founded in 1956, the CAF Board is composed of graduates from the Richard A. McMahan School of Architecture, as well as leaders in landscape architecture, planning, and construction. The Foundation plays a vital role in guiding global programming, developing leaders across architecture-related disciplines, and advocating for the college’s continued excellence.

Through the support of CAF, the McMahan School of Architecture offers students world-class educational experiences in Clemson, S.C.; Genoa, Italy; Barcelona, Spain; and Charleston, S.C. Funds raised by the Foundation provide students with transformative opportunities to travel and study architecture within a global context.

“It’s an incredible honor to serve on the Clemson Architectural Foundation Board,” said Scott Powell, Managing Principal at CGD | PBK. “Clemson has shaped so many of us as designers and leaders, and I’m eager to give back by helping create opportunities for the next generation of architects. Continuing the legacy of Craig Gaulden Davis and its deep connection to Clemson is something I’m very proud of.”

Founded in 1957 by Clemson classmates Kirk Craig and Earle Gaulden, Craig Gaulden Davis has long been recognized for design excellence that has shaped the Upstate of South Carolina and beyond. Powell’s appointment to the CAF Board continues that legacy, underscoring his commitment to advancing Clemson’s architectural program and supporting the McMahan School of Architecture’s goal to be ranked among the top 25 architecture programs nationwide.
