Bill Mahoney Wins Stevie® American Business Award

CHARLESTON, SC – June 19, 2012 – SCRA CEO Bill Mahoney was named theExecutive of the Year, Non-Profit Organization, earning a Gold Stevie®Award at the 10th Annual American Business Awards this week. Thisnational award, known as The Stevie Award, recognizes the achievementsand contributions of businesses worldwide. Final award announcementswere made at the 10th annual gala banquet in New York.

Since joining SCRA as its CEO in 2005, Mahoney has helped build a“Knowledge Economy” in a state that historically has lagged behindothers in resources, intellectual property and capital funds. Named asone of The Greater Columbia Business Monthly’s 50 Most InfluentialPeople,” Mahoney has helped SCRA achieve record revenues throughout histenure, which have more than doubled from $74 million to $195 millionover six years. In keeping with that growth, the company’s economiccontributions in South Carolina have also doubled to over $14 billion inthe time period. For the Stevie Award, more than 3,000 nominations for organizations ofall sizes and in virtually every industry were considered this year in awide range of categories.
