Three-Time Long-Drive World Champion and Hall of Famer to Thrill Golf Fans in Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC – October 19, 2010 – Sean “The Beast” Fister, three-time long-drive World Champion and best-selling author, has signed on to participate in two Pro Ams during the 2010 Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island.  Fister recently located to Mount Pleasant, SC, where he operates the Beast & Company, selling his personal line of long-distance drivers and golf products.  The Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island, scheduled October 25-31, 2010, is the  Nationwide Tour’s season-ending event where the top 60 money winners compete for 25 PGA TOUR cards and a spot on the 2011 PGA Tour.

Fister will be participating in the Lowcountry Pro Am from 9:00am to 1:00pm on Tuesday, October 26th, and the Nationwide Insurance Pro Am from 8:30am – 10:30am on Wednesday, October 27th.  He will be situated on the Hole No. 3 tee box, hitting one drive with each group participating in these events.  The public is invited to attend both Pro Ams free of charge to observe Fister in action. He will then depart on Thursday, October 28th to compete in the 2010 World Championship to be held in Mesquite, Nevada.

“I’m looking forward to making my first public appearance in the area at the Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island,” commented Fister.  “Charleston is a great golf community, and this tournament is the premier golf event in the Lowcountry, so I’m very excited to be a part of this world class event.”

Having competed in 22 World Championships, Fister is the only American to win three RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships (1995, 2001, 2005), and he has been a seventeen-time finalist in the Men’s Open division of this famed event.  He was inducted into three Halls of Fame for his driving abilities (Long Drivers of America, Arkansas Golf Hall of Fame, and Poplar Bluff Missouri Sports Hall of Fame), has set 13 World Long Drive Championship records, and authored the best-selling book The Long Drive Bible.  Fister was a four-time captain of the USA Long Drive Team, and holds the American record for the longest drive in the world finals at 406 yards, and the longest carry in the world finals at 394 yards.

“Sean’s awe-inspiring drives will add excitement for fans of all ages who dream of hitting longer off the tee,” said Kevin Canning, Tournament Director, Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island.  “Even the Nationwide Tour professionals can learn from his technique, and I know that he really enjoys teaching his methods and offering tips to help golfers of all abilities improve their game, so this is a great opportunity for everyone involved in this event.”

Sean Fister started Beast & Company to design and manufacture premium performance drivers, using the same technology used in winning two of his three World Long Drive Championship titles, to help the average golfer to hit the ball longer with accuracy.  His current signature club, the Punisher 450 Pro LD, conforms to USGA rules, and is not a long drive club.  It is standard length at 45, offers lofts of 9.5 and 10.5 in shaft flexes of Regular, Stiff, and X Stiff, at a price of $299.99 available at www.FisterGolf.com.

Fister recently relocated his business to Mount Pleasant, SC where he and his family now reside.  His new facility, in the planning stages and slated to open in the spring of 2011, will offer custom fittings, an activity area designed to build power for golf and increase swing speed, video analysis including 3D motion cameras and software used by professionals on the PGA Tour.  He plans to conduct golf seminars on power, and is currently accepting bookings to appear at charity events.

“I will be personally involved in every step of the process of helping golfers of all skill levels to hit the ball as far as possible, while keeping accuracy at a premium,” added Fister.
