SEC football legend Marcus Lattimore to headline unforgettable Stars So Bright celebration

August 21, 2025

Homeless No More announced Marcus Lattimore, beloved SEC football icon and author of the bold new memoir Scream My Name, will headline the 2025 Stars So Bright celebration—an evening dedicated to honoring local heroes and uplifting families across the Midlands. The event is Friday, September 12, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at The Mansion on Blanding.

Lattimore’s journey—from record-breaking touchdowns to his current role as a writer, educator, and advocate for purpose beyond the spotlight—resonates deeply in a community that values resilience, faith, and transformation. His presence brings an added layer of inspiration to the evening, making this year’s event one of the most anticipated in Stars So Bright history.

Also taking the stage will be internationally renowned guitarist Terence Young, bringing the soundtrack to a night of celebration, connection, and community impact.

The Stars So Bright event will honor these 2025 Community Stars – individuals and organizations who shine a light of hope across South Carolina through service, leadership, and impact.

About Homeless No More

Homeless No More has served homeless families and children in the Midlands of South Carolina for over 35 years through emergency shelter (Family Shelter), transitional shelter (St. Lawrence Place), and affordable housing development (Live Oak). Through our programs at Family Shelter and St. Lawrence Place, we served over 500 homeless parents and their children last year. We work to meet the needs of every family member – from life skill classes for the parents to afterschool programs, camps, and school resources for our children on our campuses. Homeless No More continues to be the only shelter system in South Carolina that keeps the entire family together – including fathers and boys over the age of 12.
