“Seize the Day!” – NEWSIES Comes to The Harper Center at Presbyterian College
March 30, 2026A high-energy, crowd-pleasing musical is set to take the stage in Clinton as the Laurens County Community Theatre joins forces with Presbyterian College to present the smash Broadway hit NEWSIES at The Harper Center.
This exciting collaboration not only brings a beloved production to the community but also marks the reopening of the black box theatre venue on PC’s campus—paving the way for future performances and expanded arts opportunities in Laurens County.
Set in New York City at the turn of the 20th century, NEWSIES tells the inspiring story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic leader of a group of young newspaper sellers. When powerful publishing figures raise distribution prices at the expense of the newsboys, Jack and his fellow “newsies” organize a strike—standing up for fairness and fighting for what is right. The production is packed with dynamic choreography and unforgettable musical numbers that have made NEWSIES a favorite for audiences of all ages.
