Seven Bluestein Attorneys named to Columbia Business Monthly’s 2024 Legal Elite

This year, Columbia Business Monthly has named seven Bluestein Attorneys to its “Legal Elite of the Midlands” list.
That’s two more than in 2023. The list recognizes attorneys in the Midlands based on the views of their peers. The seven named for 2024, along with the practice areas in which they were cited, are:
- John Nichols: Appellate
- Clarke Newton: Civil Litigation, Product Liability, Personal Injury – Plaintiff
- Marti Bluestein: Workers’ Compensation – Plaintiff and Mediation
- Allison Sullivan: Worker’s Compensation, Personal Injury – Plaintiff and Mediation
- Stacy Thompson: Social Security Disability
- Tim Mercer: Veterans Disability
- William Koontz: Family Law
Marti Bluestein, Allison Sullivan, John Nichols, Clarke Newton and Stacy Thompson were also named to the list last year.
The magazine began publishing the Legal Elite feature in 2010. It all starts with nominations from more than a thousand active lawyers in the Midlands. Attorneys may nominate members of their own firm, but for each in-firm nomination there must be a corresponding out-of-firm nomination. Attorneys are not allowed to vote for themselves. Attorney votes then narrow the nominees down to the top 10 in each of the practice areas.
