On Monday, November 15th, Sheriff Don Reynolds was one of four Upstate Sheriff’s Forum.  The event which was held at the Veranda in Greenville was sponsored by Fox Carolina, 106.3 FMWORD, and the SCGOP.

Sheriffs participating in the forum included:

  • Sheriff McBride – Anderson County
  • Sheriff Lewis – Greenville County
  • Sheriff Reynolds – Laurens County
  • Sheriff Wright – Spartanburg County

After short self-introductions, the panel of Upstate sheriffs responded to questions on a variety of topics including funding issues, county prisons, sex trafficking, drug use, use of excessive force, open carry concerns, animal cruelty and more.

“The Sheriffs Forum was a great way to inform Upstate citizens that we as Sheriffs work together and why,” said Sheriff Reynolds. “We must stand to protect our citizens from common criminals and the unlawful overreach of the government.”

Another elected official from Laurens County also had a role in the event.  Councilman Luke Rankin sang the National Anthem as a duet with Tara Solomon Hamilton.
