Shrek the Musical Opens This Weekend in Clinton

The curtain is set to rise this weekend on Shrek the Musical at the Clinton High School Auditorium, where Laurens County Community Theatre brings the beloved story of the swamp-dwelling ogre to life.

Audiences will follow the adventures of Shrek, Princess Fiona, and Donkey as they face off against Lord Farquaad and encounter a colorful cast of fairytale creatures. The production is packed with humor, heart, and lively music that is sure to entertain both children and adults.

Leading Roles

Lesslie Blakely as Captain of the Guards and Holly Hollingshead as Lord Farquaad

James Donnelly stars as Shrek, with Sierra Wesson as Princess Fiona and Dexter Simmons as Donkey. Holly Hollingshead brings the flamboyant Lord Farquaad to the stage, and Kipper Ackerman takes on the role of the Dragon.

Fairytale Creatures & Ensemble

The production features a full cast of fairytale favorites, including:

  • Stan Walsh as Pinocchio

  • Keely Reynolds as Gingy

  • Jacob Wesson as the Big Bad Wolf

  • Raimee Davis as Humpty Dumpty

  • Kate Howard, Gemma Gearheart, and Elizabeth Davidson as the Three Little Pigs

  • Karen Jackson as the Ugly Duckling

  • Harper Nelson, Kris McHone, and Dana Caldwell as the Bear family

  • William Hayden as Peter Pan

  • Lilly Butler as the Witch

They are joined by a robust ensemble of performers in roles ranging from Duloc Greeters and Guards to Knights, Rats, Three Blind Mice, and more.

Creative Team

The show is directed by Kris McHone, with music direction by Amy Link and choreography also by McHone. Costumes are provided by Kay Addison and Exquisite Costumes, while Tim Howard leads the set design and construction with the help of a large volunteer team. Lighting is designed by Holly Hollingshead and McHone, with sound managed by Bob Link.
