Shrimp & Grits cook-off to anchor Georgetown County Business Expo

March 15, 2026

The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Business and Community Expo on March 24, 2026, blending local commerce with a culinary competition and a nod to American history.

The event, which runs from 4:00 to 7:oo pm at Pawleys Plantation, will feature an Americana theme in honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear red, white, and blue to celebrate the county’s ties to the American Revolution.

The expo, presented by HTC, is free and open to the public. It serves as a showcase for more than 50 local business exhibitors, offering a platform for networking, interactive booths, and prize giveaways.

A central draw of the evening is the return of the Shrimp & Grits Cook-Off. Local restaurants and businesses, including Drunken Jack’s and Lee’s Inlet Kitchen, will compete for “Best in Show” and “People’s Choice” honors. While admission to the expo is free, tasting tickets for the cook-off will be available for purchase at the door.

Other confirmed contestants for the cook-off include AFLAC / Clay Johnson, Anderson Insurance Associates, Matt Doak State Farm, Milano Kitchen & Bath Center, and Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club.

The event will feature a cash bar on-site and attendees are advised to bring cash for cook-off tasting tickets. For more information, contact the Georgetown County Chamber at 843-546-8436.
