Sisters of Charity Foundation Awards $550,000 in Grants
May 28, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – May 28, 2009 – The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded 12 Responsive Grants totaling $550,000 to nonprofit and faith-based organizations across South Carolina.
Responsive Grants are designed to address the root causes of poverty using strategic methods that allow the Foundation to work closely with grantees and develop collaborative relationships by selectively offering focused technical assistance and more intentional monitoring through site visits. Responsive Grants are awarded once a year.
These organizations are relentlessly working to address poverty in South Carolina through their programs and services, said Kevin Hall, board chair of the Foundation. It is our hope that the funding from the Foundation will help strengthen and build their capacity to serve those in need.
Organizations wishing to apply for Responsive Grant funding should visit the Foundation’s Web site, sistersofcharitysc.com, for information on the application process. The next Responsive Grant application deadline is the first Tuesday in April.
