Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina seeking applicants for its 2014 Leadership Programs
May 7, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – May 7, 2014 – The Foundation is accepting applications for two programs geared towards leaders in the nonprofit sector. The Nonprofit Leadership Training Certificate Program offers two Options for participation and the Nonprofit Leadership Development Program, a five-month program for nonprofit leaders. Both of these courses are part of the Foundation’s Carolina Academy, which also offers free workshops to nonprofit organizations.
Nonprofit Leadership Training Certificate Program
This program is designed for those nonprofit leaders who are recognized as having great potential and are ready to take their nonprofit leadership to the next level. There are two options for participation:
Option 1:
Courses may be taken for nine Graduate level hours in partnership with Columbia College. If Track 1 is selected, the participant will assume responsibility for paying $300 per semester for 3 semesters (9 credit hrs) for a total cost of $900. The Foundation will pay the remaining balance each semester for 3 semesters of tuition for a total cost of $1500.
Option 2:
Courses may be taken without Graduate level credit given for coursework and no program related fees apply.
The certificate program will run three consecutive semesters, beginning August 2014 through August 2015. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership.
Nonprofit Leadership Development Program
The Nonprofit Leadership Development Program (NLDP) is designed to reach a wide range of nonprofit leaders in organizations across the state. It is a free program to enhance personal and professional growth within nonprofit organizations in South Carolina.
This year, the Development Program offers a unique and interesting approach to examining a broad variety of classical management issues. Traditional leadership themes are explored through the lens of acclaimed films carefully selected to capture many of the human experiences that we collectively and universally encounter. Most importantly, all learning experiences are designed to specifically address the challenging realities of nonprofit leaders.
The program meets one Thursday a month from August 2014 through December 2014.
