Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals’ Heritage Society Inducts Four Members Including J. Michael Kapp

COLUMBIA, SC – January 31, 2008 – Four new members have been named to the Heritage Society of Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals. J. Michael Kapp, the late Peggy Huskey Marshall, R. Mac Stidham, and John Stevenson, Ph.D., were recently inducted into this prestigious group. Established by Providence in 2003, the Heritage Society recognizes its most committed supporters who have generously given their time, talent, and knowledge over the years to further the mission of the hospitals.
J. Michael Kapp served on the Providence Hospital Foundation board of trustees as chairman and vice chairman from 1989 to1995. In 1993, he was selected as a member of Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals’ board of trustees. Kapp is currently the chairman of the board and has previously served as chair of finance. He was recently elected to represent Providence Hospitals on the Sisters of Charity Health System board, where he serves as chair of the audit and compliance committee and a member of the executive committee. Kapp is the executive vice president of Carolina First.
