Six recurring free, family-friendly events to attend this summer

Freshfields Village, the premier open-air shopping and dining destination just 30 minutes from downtown Charleston, is welcoming the summer season with a full lineup of recurring events and community gatherings on the Village Green. From Memorial Day weekend through late summer, The Village will host a steady cadence of live music, farmers markets, family movie nights and more, offering visitors and locals multiple free ways to experience the season each week.
Building on longstanding traditions like Music on The Green and the Farmers Market, events are held on a consistent weekly basis, giving guests multiple ways to experience the Village — from Monday markets to Friday night concerts and midweek family programming.

Summer 2026 Events include:
Music on The Green: Memorial Day Weekend Kickoff
Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The summer season begins Friday with a special two-night performance series for Memorial Day weekend on the Village Green. Friday’s concert features Michel Jons Band, followed on Saturday evening by another complementary outdoor concert featuring Shem Creek Boogie Band. Guests are invited to bring chairs and blankets and enjoy an evening of live music to kick off the season.
Jazz Night at the Andell Inn’s Porch Bar
Every second and fourth Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
An intimate evening of live jazz at The Andell Inn’s Porch Bar, offering a relaxed, elevated experience within Freshfields Village. Guests can enjoy cocktails and small bites alongside live music on the covered porch.
Music on The Green (Weekly Series)
Fridays, end of May through August from 6 to 9 p.m.
Where summer comes alive, The Village’s signature summer concert series returns with weekly live performances from local and regional bands. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and pick up food to-go from surrounding restaurants to gather on The Green for an evening of music, dancing and connection.
Farmers Market
Mondays, June through August from 3 to 7 p.m.
A seasonal favorite that grows each year, the Freshfields Village Farmers Market brings together local vendors offering fresh produce, prepared foods and artisan goods that fill the Village Green for the evening.
Cars & Coffee
3rd Saturday of each month from February to September from 9 to 11 a.m.
Guests can bring their own antique or unique ride, or come to explore a curated collection of classic and specialty vehicles every third Saturday morning, while enjoying coffee and breakfast for purchase from retailers.
Bingo and Movie Nights on The Green
Wednesday, July 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29 starting at 6:30 p.m.
A longtime summer favorite, Movies on The Green invites guests to unwind under the stars for a nostalgic outdoor movie experience. With blankets spread across the lawn and families gathered together, the evening offers a simple, memorable way to end the day, combining classic films, warm summer nights and the energy of the Village.
All events are free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to explore The Village’s shops, restaurants and services before and after each event and are welcome to bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy events on the Village Green.
Freshfields Village welcomes more than 2 million visitors annually and hosts over 100 events each year, making it a central gathering place for residents and visitors across Charleston, Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns Islands.
