SLG Investment Holdings, LLC acquires Package Concepts, Inc.

SLG Investment Holdings, LLC (“SLG”) has made its latest acquisition acquiring the business and assets of 33-year-old Greer-based Package Concepts, Inc. The company and assets will be managed through a newly formed affiliate SLG Package Concepts, LLC but continue to operate under the Package Concepts (“PC”) name. “Package Concepts has been delivering innovative boxes and packaging solutions since 1989,” states SLG Founder and CEO Sharon Gordon. “We look forward to continuing to provide the same solutions and service for our existing clients, while growing the company’s capabilities in the packaging sector.”
Package Concepts currently offers its customers interior corrugated packaging, custom boxes, design and production, real-time inventory tracking, warehousing/distribution, and rotary die-cutting. “The company has done a great job over the years of being a ‘one-stop box partner’ and we believe with the core infrastructure in place and skilled workers we can deliver so much more,” says Gordon.
Gordon continues, “South Carolina ranks as one of the top states in the country for manufacturing, as such we have maintained an interest in participating in this segment of the economy. After our first foray into manufacturing with our investment in Foothills Food Group, the manufacturer and distributor of the amazing Avalanche Bars (avalanchebars.com), we were sold on further creating and distributing products. PC offers us the opportunity and access into broader manufacturing corridors.”
In addition to SLG’s acquisition of Package Concepts, SLG affiliate SLG Real Estate Holdings, LLC has acquired 20,000 square feet of manufacturing and distribution space on Poplar Road Extension in Greer and will lease the space to Package Concepts for its operations. “We have some improvements to make to the property, but as it sits today the facility is more than adequate for PC’s current operations,” states Gordon. “Working with industry-leading planners we will look for ways to improve the value of the property through upgrades and improvements, while PC will seek innovations and improvements to product offerings, processes, and services available to customers.”
Package Concepts’ business and the commercial property investment represent SLG’s fifth and sixth acquisitions since inception in 2019. SLG continues to seek opportunities to build, grow and further develop its portfolio of essential small business and real property assets.
