Smart Business Recycling Program Accepting Survey Responses and Award Applications Through October 15

Businesses across South Carolina committed to sustainable practices have an opportunity to be recognized for their efforts. The South Carolina Smart Business Recycling Program has officially opened its annual Survey and Awards Application period, which runs through October 15, 2025.
Operated by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), the Smart Business Recycling Program highlights businesses and organizations that demonstrate leadership in waste reduction and recycling. The annual report and awards program encourages companies to submit data reflecting their recycling efforts and environmental impact.
To be eligible for the Smart Business Recycling Award, businesses must provide recycling data collected between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. Applicants are asked to share key metrics such as the types and quantities of materials recycled, initiatives undertaken to reduce waste, and any innovative strategies employed to promote sustainability in the workplace.
Award recipients will be recognized for their commitment to environmental responsibility, with honorees gaining visibility and appreciation within the statewide business community and beyond.
