SOL Southwest Kitchen & Tequila Bar will raise money to help homeless and low income individuals and families

Beginning next week, SOL Southwest Kitchen & Tequila Bar will be partnering with local charity organization, The North Charleston Dream Center, to raise money through the restaurant’s Kitchen Karma program over the next six weeks. The North Charleston DreamCenter is dedicated to providing resources and opportunities to low income, homeless and under-served individuals and families in North Charleston and Hanahan. The funds raised through Kitchen Karma will provide these individuals and families with the education and training they need to move towards self-sufficiency.

“The North Charleston Dream Center is a great resource for people in our community to work towards bettering themselves,” said David Clark, owner of SOL. “We look forward to helping support these individuals and families during these difficult times especially since North Charleston and Hanahan are so close to home.”

Through its Kitchen Karma program, SOL partners with a local charity organization for a period of about six to eight weeks, and donates $1 from every featured Kitchen Karma menu items sold in that time period to the partnering charity. The featured items for the North Charleston Dream Centerinclude the Strawberry Margarita and the Chicken and Roasted Vegetable Enchiladas.

Before working with the North Charleston Dream Center, SOL’s most recent Kitchen Karma partnership was with HALOS, an organization that strives to provide care, support and advocacy to abused and neglected children. Over the six-week period, SOL raised a total of $1462 for HALOS.
