SOL Southwest Kitchen and Tequila Bar’s charity donations top $55,000

May 21, 2018

SOL Southwest Kitchen & Tequila Bar is dishing out more than fresh-juiced margaritas and Southwestern food; they are also dishing out big checks to local charities and have donated more than $55,000 to date. SOL’s Kitchen Karma program offers a signature food item and a signature cocktail where $1 from each of these items sold in a six-week time period will be donated to a local charitable organization.

From Monday, May 21st through Sunday, July 8th the three area SOL locations will be partnering with the Green Heart Project. The Green Heart Project builds garden-based experiential learning projects and school garden programs to help educate students, connect people and cultivate community through the growing, eating and celebrating food. The Kitchen Karma featured items for the Green Heart Project include the SOL Salad and the Strawberry Basil Smash cocktail.

“It means everything to us to give something back to the community where we live and raise our families,” says SOL owner, David Clark. “We want to say thank you to our customers who continue to support us and our Kitchen Karma program.”

Before partnering with the Green Heart Project, SOL partnered with local nonprofit WINGS and raised a total of $2,875, which will be used to help at-risk kids with social and emotional problems to succeed.

All three SOL locations are open Monday-Saturday at 11am and Sunday at 10 am serving lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.
