South Carolina Federal Credit Union named #4 nationally in Credit Union Journal’s “2016 Best Credit Unions to Work For” Rankings

South Carolina Federal Credit Union is honored to be recognized nationally by the Credit Union Journal as the #4 credit union in the country for creating a quality workplace for its employees.

Determining the Best Credit Unions to Work For involved a two-step process. The first step, worth approximately 25% of the overall ranking, consisted of evaluating each participating credit union’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. The second part consisted of employee surveys aimed at assessing the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. This part of the process was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the best credit unions and the final ranking within the list, comprised of 45 credit unions.

South Carolina Federal was highlighted specifically for its focus on employee development and talent mobility. As SVP of Human Resources, Leslie Norris noted, “high performing companies have highly tenured people.” Programs such as “Blue Buddy” and internal transparency initiatives were credited for the well being and, in turn, longevity of employees with the credit union.
