South Carolina Federal CU names John Stanford Vice President of Lending

South Carolina Federal Credit Union has named John Stanford Vice President of Lending. The role oversees business services and loan underwriting, loan administration and loan servicing for the $1.7 billion cooperative, serving over 155,000 members across South Carolina.

In his role, Stanford is responsible for developing the credit union’s lending strategy and managing the business services team. Prior to joining South Carolina Federal, Stanford was the VP of Lending at Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, Indiana. He has 14 years of experience in the credit union industry and has worked in consumer and mortgage lending, lending services and asset protection.

“South Carolina Federal is one of the most respected credit unions in the region, and I’m honored to come on board to lead our lending department,” said Stanford. “This year, one of my goals is growing our business services presence in Columbia and making sure our staff has what they need to provide unparalleled service to all of our members.”

Stanford resides in Charleston with his wife and daughter. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and CUNA Management School and sits on CUNA’s Compliance Education Advisory Board.
