South Carolina Power Team Honored by Upstate Alliance

COLUMBIA, SC – March 19, 2008 – The South Carolina Power Team received the Upstate Alliance’s 2007 Economic Development Impact Award at the Alliance’s 2008 annual meeting. Santee Cooper, an affiliate organization of the South Carolina Power Team, was a co-recipient.

“We are grateful to the Upstate Alliance for honoring our organization with this award,” said Ralph Thomas, president of the South Carolina Power Team. “We look forward to continuing to work with them, the economic development organizations of the Upstate counties and the area’s electric cooperatives to attract and grow area industry.”

In the award presentation, the South Carolina Power Team and Santee Cooper were cited for their marketing support to the region’s counties and the Alliance, their preparation of industrial sites and buildings for industry recruitment and the location assistance provided to get industrial/distribution facilities to the area.
