South Carolina State Museum to Host Farm to Gallery Makers Dinner

COLUMBIA, SC –  Join the South Carolina State Museum during a unique farm to table dining experience celebrating all things South Carolina at the museum’s first-ever Farm to Gallery Makers Dinner from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 30. The dinner will be nestled in the middle of the Carolina Makers art exhibition and will feature passed hor d’oeuvres and three family-style courses prepared and served by local chefs, as well as cocktails, wine and local craft beer, live music and handmade plates for guests to take home.

Dinner guests will dine on locally-grown food, sip on locally-sourced beverages—all surrounded by the masterful works of South Carolina artisans and craftspeople featured in the Carolina Makers exhibition. The dinner will feature seasonal meals prepared by owner/chef Kristian Niemi of Bourbon and Rosso Trattoria, executive chef Frank Bradley of Bourbon and executive chef Travis Rayle of Rosso Trattoria. The seasonal passed hors d’oeuvres will be prepared by Brandon Velie, owner/chef of Juniper in Ridge Spring, S.C. and a participating chef with the South Carolina Chef Ambassador Program, a state-wide initiative established by Governor Haley to enhance the promotion of South Carolina as a culinary destination. In addition, guests will enjoy live music by the Ruby Brunettes and dine on handmade pottery and tables created strictly for this unique dinner. To create a lasting memory, dinner guests will take home the handcrafted plate they eat on throughout the dinner. A takeaway bag filled with a variety of goodies will be provided to all guests.

Tickets include an opening cocktail, wine, local craft beer, passed hor d’oeuvres and three family-style courses featuring locally-sourced produce and proteins from Certified South Carolina farms and a handmade plate.
