South Carolina’s Largest Regional Development Alliance Elects New Regional Leadership

Jim B. Apple, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer First Citizens Bank of South Carolina to lead Central SC Alliance

COLUMBIA, SC – July 29, 2008 – Central SC Alliance today announced that Jim B. Apple, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer First Citizens Bank of South Carolina will serve as Chairman of the Board for 2008/09. The Alliance Board of Directors unanimously voted to approve the selection of Mr. Apple at the organizations recent annual meeting held at the historic state museum in Columbia.

I am honored to continue to support the mission of the Alliance by serving in the role of Chairman.  In the past decade, I have seen the Alliance change dynamically to meet the economic development needs of our region and state.  We are blessed to have a great staff, board, and membership to pursue our key objective of improving the employment prospects and household incomes for our fellow citizens.  The entire Alliance Team is committed to do what it takes to get the job done for our region to be successful in the global economy,” said Jim Apple.

Apple is the successor of Chairman George J. Bullwinkel, Jr., who will remain on the Central SC Alliance Board as a director.
