Sowell Gray’s Beard elected to South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association Board

COLUMBIA, SC – Grady Beard, a member of Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, LLC, has been elected to the Board of Directors of SCWCEA. Beard was unanimously elected by the board to fill an unexpired seat.
SCWCEA is a non-profit organization of over 800 workers’ compensation professionals in South Carolina that conducts educational programs and provides educational resources for those involved in workers’ compensation claims in the state.
Beard’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation defense, workers’ compensation mediation and alternative dispute resolution. He also practices in the firm’s appellate practice group. He received his juris doctor from Emory University School of Law.
A fellow in the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers and an advisory board member for Larson’s National Workers’ Compensation Group, Beard has previously served as co-chair for the Workers’ Compensation Section of the SC Defense Trial Attorneys Association.
