Spartanburg-based Waldrop, Inc. Promotes Pruitt and Porterfield to Executive Vice President, Leazer to Chief Financial Officer
January 4, 2012SPARTANBURG, SC – January 4, 2012 – Spartanburg-based Waldrop, Inc., a full-service mechanical contracting firm, announces three senior-level promotions — Dennis Pruitt, P.E., and Jamie Porterfield to Executive Vice President, and Johnny Leazer to Chief Financial Officer.
Waldrop, Inc., the holding company for Waldrop Mechanical Services, Waldrop Heating & Air Conditioning, and Waldrop Solar Solutions, is a full service mechanical contracting firm serving the commercial, institutional, industrial, health care, and residential markets primarily in Upstate South Carolina.
Waldrop’s President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Caldwell elaborated on the significance of the announcement, saying “The promotions of Dennis, Jamie, and Johnny are the final steps that complete the implementation of the company’s management and ownership succession plan. These enhancements to our leadership team will better position the firm for long-term growth,, ownership stability, and business continuity in the future.”
Pruitt will be responsible for leading Waldrop’s day-to-day commercial/industrial construction operations. A 18-year veteran of the mechanical contracting industry, he has previously held various roles in design, project management and sales/marketing activities. Pruitt is a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina. Pruitt joined Waldrop in 2004.
Porterfield will continue to oversee major commercial/industrial construction projects along with leading the firm’s solar business unit along with providing leadership insight and direction to grow Waldrop’s residential and service capabilities in the Upstate. Porterfield has 17 years of experience in mechanical contracting, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University. He has been with Waldrop for seven years.
Leazer will have complete responsibility for the firm’s financial matters, He is a Construction Control Professional (CCP) with a construction industry career spanning 25 years, including four years with Waldrop. Leazer is a graduate of Wofford College with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics.
