Spartanburg Community College Welcomes New Employees

SPARTANBURG, SC – January 17, 2012 – Spartanburg Community College welcomes seven new employees.

Micki Ewens has been hired as a full-time math instructor. She previously taught as an adjunct math instructor at SCC and has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Virginia Tech.
 
Jason Ford has been hired as the director of instructional support for the academic affairs and learning resources division. Ford previously held the positions of instructional designer and instructional technology consultant at Western Carolina University and was a professor of game design and development, and visual communication for the Lone Star College System. Ford holds a bachelor of fine art degree in art in advertising and graphic design and a master’s of education in educational technology.
 
Bob Malone was hired as a campus police officer. He was previously employed as an assistant chief in the USC Upstate police department and a lieutenant for the Union County Sheriff’s Department.
 
Sherri Mims has been hired as the healthcare program assistant for SCC’s Corporate & Community Education (CCE) division. She previously worked part-time as a registration specialist for SCC CCE. Mims earned an associate degree in business at SCC.

Joe Morrison has been hired as a computer applications instructor in the business technologies division. Morrison was the president and CEO of Morrison Communications Corporation and the Visual Design Group, Inc. and has previous experience as an adjunct instructor at SCC. Morrison earned a master’s and bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois.
 
Christina Vandiver has been hired as the marketing communications specialist in advertising and public relations. Vandiver was employed part-time for SCC as the advertising and PR coordinator and was previously a marketing representative for Greenville Technical College. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Winthrop University.
 
Pamela Vaughn has been hired as the program director for medical assisting. Vaughn has taught as an adjunct instructor for SCC and was previously employed by Mary Black Health System – Piedmont Internal Medicine. She holds an associate degree from SCC.
