Spartanburg Day School Teacher selected for Gilder Lehrman Summer Seminar

SPARTANBURG, SC – April 2, 2012 – Kelsea Stockwell Turner, a Middle School history teacher at Spartanburg Day School,  has been selected to participate in the highly competitive Gilder Lehrman Summer Seminar on the Great Depression and World War II at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA) from June 24 – 30, 2012. 

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, founded in 1994, is a nonprofit organization that supports the study of American history through a variety of programs and resources for students, teachers, scholars, and history enthusiasts. The Gilder Lehrman Summer Seminars are designed to support and enhance participants’ commitment to high-quality history teaching. 

The week-long seminars are offered at colleges and universities nationwide and in the United Kingdom and provide intellectual stimulation and practical strategies to take back to the classroom.
