Spartanburg Water announces new Construction Asset Department Manager
July 30, 2018Spartanburg Water is pleased to announce the hiring of Janet Hurley Cann, P. E.as the Construction Asset Department Manager. As the Construction Asset Department Manager, Janet will oversee the Asset Management Programs associated with the construction and/or rehabilitation of current and future infrastructure of the collection and distribution systems. Janet has over 35 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry. She retired from Spartanburg Water after 28 years of service in 2015. After working in the private sector for three years, Janet has rejoined Spartanburg Water.
Janet holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Clemson University and a MS in Civil Engineering from the University of South Carolina and is currently a member of the Clemson University Environmental Engineering Degree Advisory Board. She is a licensed Professional Engineer and Wastewater Operator Trainee in the state of South Carolina.
Janet was the recipient of the 2006 WEASC Engineer of the Year award and is a proud member of the WEASC 5-S Society. She served as the past Secretary and President of the WEASC. She is currently an active member of the Water Environment Federation, serving as the Vice Chair of the Committee Leadership Council, and the Water Environment Association of South Carolina.
