January 26, 2016Operators bring back training to water treatment team
SPARTANBURG, SC – Two of Spartanburg Water’s Reclaimed Water Treatment employees recently attended the Water Environment Association of South Carolina’s (WEASC) annual Operator Conference in Myrtle Beach. Sean L. Henderson and William D. Hughes represented the utility at the conference, a three-day event focusing on operators’ needs and continuing education.
“This event provides focused technical sessions geared towards environmental systems operators,” said Ken Tuck, Spartanburg Water Director of Water Treatment. “It deals with specific operator needs and education on subjects like safety and disinfection.”
Also covered at the conference were solids handling and nutrient removal. The employees who attended are then responsible for sharing new knowledge with other Spartanburg Water operators.
“Participation in these conferences ensures that our employees are well informed on all new processes and also shows our commitment to providing the best service possible to our customers,” Tuck said.
