October 6, 2025

Spectrum today announced the opening of a new Spectrum Field Operations Center which will help provide seamless connectivity for Laurens, Greenwood, Anderson and Union County customers, including more than 6,000 additional locations that are part of Spectrum’s rural construction initiative.

The new facility, located on Templeton Rd. in Laurens, will house nearly two dozen Spectrum Field Services technicians and construction coordinators.

Field Services employees deliver technical customer support, ranging from new service installation to troubleshooting. The team focuses on maintaining Spectrum’s advanced fiber-optic network, plant construction and delivering quality service to homes and businesses.

“We are committed to providing an exceptional customer experience through our new center here in Laurens,” said Alex Gonzalez, Area Vice President of Field Operations at Spectrum. “As the #1 rural internet provider in the nation*, we are expanding our presence in South Carolina and bringing gigabit broadband to unserved communities with talented and hard-working employees building their career at Spectrum.”

The additional center was needed as Spectrum expands its services in Laurens, Greenwood, Union and Anderson counties and launches Spectrum Internet, Mobile, TV and Voice services to more than 6,000 new locations. The center adds to more than a dozen Spectrum stores and facilities serving customers in the Upstate.

“We are thrilled to welcome a new center with local employees dedicated to customers in our area including those who are newly connected,” said state Sen. Daniel Verdin. “Spectrum’s investment will enhance residents’ lives and contribute to the growth of our local economy.”

Spectrum’s multi-year rural construction initiative is driven by more than $7 billion in private investment from the company and will ultimately add an additional 100,000+ miles of fiber-optic network infrastructure and deliver symmetrical and multi-gigabit speed internet access to more than 1.7 million new locations across the country.
