Spectrum Properties Residential Plans New 260-Unit Luxury Apartment Community on Daniel Island

DANIEL ISLAND, SC – July 18, 2012 – Spectrum Properties Residential is planning a new, 260-unit luxury apartment community on Daniel Island, to be located in the center of the island’s downtown and within walking distance of retail stores, restaurants, the island’s Publix supermarket and many other businesses and conveniences. Construction is planned to begin in the summer of 2013, with completion in the summer of 2014.
This newest addition to the Daniel Island community will be called “Simmons Park” because it overlooks an urban-style park of the same name that is dedicated to master blacksmith Philip Simmons. Nationally known for his intricate iron gate and fence designs, which are found throughout the Charleston area and in museums around the country, Philip Simmons was born on Daniel Island in 1912 and lived here for several years before leaving the island to attend school in downtown Charleston. In keeping with the name, a key feature of the new apartment community will be a series of wrought iron gates and fences leading to a beautiful courtyard.
The building’s four-story exterior will combine brick and stucco and include both large and small balconies. The front street-level corner of the building will feature two retail spaces overlooking Simmons Park. A beautiful one-acre lake flanks the property in the back.

The apartments at Simmons Park will feature condominium-level finishes, including solid surface counter tops, stainless steel appliances, forty-two inch cabinets and large walk-in closets. Premium units will feature views of the center courtyard, pool or lake.
