Spirit Telecom Expands Globally With Sprint Help
September 2, 2010CHARLESTON, SC – September 2, 2010 – Spirit Telecom has expanded its network services through a partnership with Sprint that will provide its customers with global Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS).
As South Carolina continues to grow in international trade, we get more requests to provide network services to overseas locations, said Terry Metze, Jr., Spirit’s vice president of business development.
Sprint’s MPLS network provides a high quality, secure MPLS network, which enables users to transmit voice, data and video over the same network using secure connections to any location. Under the agreement, Spirit customers can connect all of their locations to one another, including international locations.
We have truly become an international business state with our shipping facilities along the coast and our manufacturing facilities along the I-85 corridor in the upstate. As a South Carolina company, we are proud that we can now offer these services, Metze said.
Sprint works relentlessly to deliver world class products that further enable our partners’ success and we are delighted that Spirit Telecom trusts Sprint to be their provider of choice. We are proud to provide the backbone to their network as they extend their customer offering globally, said Dan Dooley, president of wholesale, Sprint.
Through the partnership Spirit will be able to apply the same Quality of Service (QoS) standards it uses on its network to the international network connections.
