Spotlight on Agriculture Returns March 12 at New Laurens County Ag Center

Laurens County’s deep agricultural roots will be celebrated on Thursday, March 12, 2026, during the 52nd Annual Spotlight on Agriculture, to be held at the new Laurens County Ag Center.
This longstanding community tradition honors the farmers, farm families, and agribusinesses that help sustain one of the county’s most vital industries. Organized by the Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service Advisory Committee for Laurens County, the annual banquet brings together residents, agricultural leaders, and community partners to recognize the people and work behind Laurens County’s agricultural success.
The event will take place at the NEW Laurens Ag Center, located at 98 Ag Center Drive in Laurens.
Exhibits featuring local agricultural organizations, businesses, and educational displays will open at 5:00 p.m., providing attendees an opportunity to learn more about farming, food production, and agricultural resources in the county. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.
Once again this year’s meal will be prepared by the well-known Shealy’s BBQ, a longtime favorite across the region.
Spotlight on Agriculture has been held for more than five decades and continues to serve as an important platform for celebrating the contributions of local agriculture while strengthening connections between the farming community and the public. Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Laurens County’s economy and identity, supporting jobs, preserving farmland, and providing food and resources that impact residents every day.
Tickets and Attendance
Dinner tickets are $10 per person and must be purchased in advance. Organizers note that tickets will not be available at the door and that no take-out meals will be offered.
