Spreading Love in Laurens County: United Way’s Valentine’s Day Initiative for Senior Citizens

As Valentine’s Day approaches, the United Way of Laurens County is gearing up for a heartwarming initiative to spread love and joy to the senior citizens in the community.
The Bags of Love project aims to bring a touch of warmth to homebound senior citizens in Laurens County. These thoughtfully curated bags will be delivered to nursing homes and other seniors in the area, brightening their days, and reminding them that they are cherished members of the community.
What to Include in the Bags:
The contents of the bags are designed to cater to the needs and preferences of senior citizens. Items may include, but are not limited to:
- Soap (liquid only)
- Cards
- Sugar-free candy
- Calendars
- Books
- Blankets
- Hats
- Gloves
- False teeth holders
- Combs
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Eye drops
- Lotion
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Notebooks
- Pens/pencils
- Band-Aids
- Magnifying glass
- Washcloths
- Cotton balls
- Tissue
- Brush
How You Can Help:
Participating in this heartwarming initiative is simple. Individuals can put together their own Bags of Love and deliver them on or before Friday, February 9th, to the United Way office located at 16 Peachtree Street in Clinton. Additionally, to make the shopping process easier, a United Way wish list has been created, allowing contributors to select items for donation through a convenient online platform.
