August 21, 2017

CHARLESTON, SC – Three recent graduates have found a new home with Stantec in South Carolina. Frances Miramon, Trey Nelson, and Crystal Aponte join the Charleston office to bolster the firm’s transportation and civil engineering design and landscape architecture capabilities.

Frances Miramon joins Stantec as a transportation designer. She graduated with honors with a bachelor of civil engineering degree from the University of Mississippi. She’s already demonstrated leadership at Ole Miss, having received the David W. Arnold Engineering Award, Best Water Resources Chief Engineer Award in 2017, Civil Engineering Leadership Award in 2016, and a Deep South ITE Scholarship in 2015. Miramon will apply her dedication to excellence in the design of transportation projects for Stantec’s regional clients.

Trey Nelson joins Stantec as engineering designer. He previously served as a civil engineering intern at Santee Cooper, providing coal ash relocation analysis and updating flood plain maps. Nelson also served as an engineering intern for The Citadel’s Facilities and Engineering. While at the Citadel he demonstrated discipline in both studies and personally – he played football while taking a full course load. He recently graduated from The Citadel with a bachelor of science in civil engineering degree. As an engineering designer, Nelson will support Stantec’s community development clients.

Crystal Aponte joins Stantec as a junior landscape architect. She previously worked for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation as assistant landscape architect. Aponte is passionate about culturally and environmentally-conscious design and creative problem-solving as it pertains to green spaces. Aponte graduated from Rutgers University in 2014 and will also support Stantec’s community development clients.
