State of travel and tourism to be highlighted during North Myrtle Beach Chamber’s annual marketing summit
May 1, 2018The state of travel and tourism in South Carolina is stronger than ever, and presenters will discuss just what this means for the Grand Strand at the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau’s annual marketing summit. Set for Wednesday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event will see industry leaders gather to discuss the impact of travel and tourism on the North Myrtle Beach economy in 2017, North Myrtle Beach lodging research, the state of coastal travel, how tourism drives the real estate/relocation market, and more.
“The influx of people visiting this area has grown immensely over the last few years,” said George DuRant, senior vice president of tourism development at the North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce and CVB. “And we aren’t stopping there — we wanted to share what the Chamber has been doing to aid in the uptick in tourism to our area. We want to take this opportunity to be an asset to members of the businesses community regarding what they can do to help their own businesses grow during this time.”
Keynote speakers at the marketing summit will include South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism (SCPRT) President Duane Parrish; Shannon Gray, founder and CEO of Gray Research Solutions; and Ellen Liston, publicist at Dollywood.
