Statewide Employer Benefits Survey Opens

April 20, 2010

GREENVILLE, SC – April 20, 2010 – The 2010 South Carolina Employer Benefits Surveya free bi-annual survey designed to help South Carolina business owners and company leaders benchmark their employee benefit programs against peers and competitors – has opened and is already receiving data from companies across the state eager to assess their competitive position, organizers announced today.

The one-of-a-kind biannual survey, sponsored by regional insurance agent/broker Rosenfeld Einstein, helps organizations to determine if they are providing competitive employee benefit packages and paying competitive fees for their benefits programs  – or if they are at risk of losing valuable talent to more savvy competitors.

The survey, last executed in 2008, provides qualitative and quantitative data on employee benefit programs at no cost for participation, notes Howard Einstein, president of Rosenfeld Einstein Employee Benefits Corp.  We initiated the program in 2004 and have received tremendous participation from across the Palmetto State every two years, said Einstein.  Participants tell us that the survey data is exceptionally valuable and timely in their planning, so we are continuing the program in 2010 and making it available at no cost to all interested South Carolina organizations.

The online survey is confidential and data takes approximately 20-30 minutes to enter.  Rosenfeld Einstein then analyzes the survey data and provides each participating organization with its own custom report and data.  While ideal for midsized and larger businesses, Rosenfeld Einstein is making the program available to any organization with 20 or more full-time employees. Containing over 200 data points, the South Carolina Employer Benefits Survey will help businesses compare their benefits package offerings to competitors in such areas as:

  • Deductibles
  • Office Visit and Prescription Drug Co-payments
  • Medical Plan Increases
  • Monthly Premiums (Single/Family)
  • Monthly Employee Contributions
  • PPO vs. Consumer Directed plan costs
  • Use of wellness, flex time and education reimbursement programs

Every participating organization receives a customized analysis comparing their plan to others statewide and nationally.  All information is held in total confidence, and participating company information is only shared with that company.  At the completion of the survey, Rosenfeld Einstein will present aggregated data from across the state to attendees and media at a seminar in Greenville in late August, at which time attendees will receive the individual benchmark report for their organization.

A key benefit of this one-of-a-kind initiative is in helping companies understand where they stand competitively, both locally and nationally, in recruiting and retaining their best associates, noted Einstein.  The survey is quick, easy, customized – and it helps organizations make better informed decisions about their benefit plans based on real-time market data.

For South Carolina to continue to advance in the global economy, this type of benchmark information is essential to every forward-thinking organization, and we’re pleased to make it available, Einstein added.

Organizations wishing to participate in the survey can enter their data confidentially online.  Go to www.RosenfeldEinstein.com and click on 2010 SC Employer Benefits Survey to complete the survey.

The deadline for organizations to complete the online survey is May 31, 2010.  By doing so, they will receive a private report and be invited to the August seminar where survey results will be presented in detail.  Those unable to attend the seminar will have their results delivered or mailed to them, Einstein added.
