Stay Active This Summer in Columbia

It’s summer time! Don’t waste your summer sitting at home, get out and be active while having fun. Columbia provides lots of fun opportunities, so don’t miss out on all the action! You don’t have to workout in a gym to reap the benefits of exercise. Kayaking, Canoeing, Stand-up paddle boarding: Columbia has many rental places to rent kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddleboards. Enjoy a day on the river or lake with a friend. Parks: Take a hike at one of Columbia’s beautiful parks Harbison State Forest Park, Congaree National Park, Sesquicentennial State Park, or Saluda Shoals Park. Take an adventure and try a new hiking trail every time you visit. Bring your dog or pack a picnic and enjoy the outdoors.
Beach: Going to the beach this summer? Bring a fun, active game with you to keep your body moving. Play catch, beach volleyball, or badminton. On the really hot days enjoy the water while boogie boarding, body surfing or stand up paddle boarding.
Races: It’s never too late for a new hobby or goal for the summer. Columbia has a wide selection of races ranging from 5k to marathons this summer. Sign up for a race for fun or for a personal goal. Encourage a family member or friend to compete with you.

Day Trip: Great vacation spots surround Columbia, take a day trip and experience all the great things they have to offer. The White Water Center in Charlotte, NC has great selection of land and water activities. Bike the Swamp Rabbit trail in Greenville, SC and afterwards relax and have a picnic downtown at the gorgeous Falls Park. Go camping, hiking or fishing in Asheville, NC and witness the beautiful outdoors of the Great Smoky Mountains.
