Stephen C. Mitchell Selected Managing Partner of Fisher & Phillips’ Columbia Office

COLUMBIA, SC – Stephen C. Mitchell has been selected managing partner of the Columbia office of Fisher & Phillips LLP as part of a planned transition that took effect on October 1.
The Columbia office is one of 31 offices of Fisher & Phillips, one of the first U.S. law firms to concentrate its practice exclusively upon representation of employers in labor and employment matters. Mitchell has practiced law with the same group of partners since 1993, and has been with Fisher & Phillips since the Columbia office of the firm was founded in 2005.

A native of Spartanburg, Mitchell received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is an active member of the American Bar Association and South Carolina Bar Association, and he is a Contributing Editor for The Developing Labor Law, a practice-specific treatise. Mitchell also is a member and past chair of the board for the Cooperative Ministries, and he has served on the board of Junior Achievement of South Carolina.
Mitchell is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Specialist in Employment and Labor Law. He is “AV” Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and he has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America since 2010. He also has been listed in Chambers USA, America’s Leading Business Lawyers since 2007 and included in South Carolina Super Lawyers since 2009.
