Strengthening Families: Thornwell’s Family Support Program Returns to Laurens County

September 2, 2024

Do you wish your family could listen more and yell less? Thornwell’s Strengthening Families program is here to help!

Beginning September 3rd, this FREE 14-week program is designed to support families through education, enrichment, and community. Open to all Laurens County families, the program aims to strengthen family bonds and provide valuable skills to parents and children alike.

The program is particularly beneficial for parents looking to enhance their parenting skills, children facing behavioral or social challenges, and families dealing with difficult circumstances such as divorce, job loss, or death. Families with children ages 6 to 11 will gather weekly on Thornwell’s campus for a complimentary meal.

During the sessions, adults and children will meet in separate groups to learn at their own pace. Families will then reunite for group activities to practice and solidify their learning. Each night, participants will receive fun and practical take-home gifts.

Classes will be held every Tuesday from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at 302 S Broad St, Clinton, SC. Free childcare will be provided for children ages 0-5 during the class.

It’s not too late to sign up and take advantage of this enriching opportunity. For more information, contact Khay Wald at [email protected] or call 864-923-3980. Visit Thornwell.org for more details.
