Strong community partners Sam Carbis Solutions Group, Smithfield make speed & feed bbq cook-off and car show a success
November 11, 2015DARLINGTON, SC – Entering its third year, the Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Car Show, scheduled for Nov. 13-14, 2015, has grown into a family fun event thanks in part to its presenting partners – Sam Carbis Solutions Group and Smithfield.
“We can’t thank our presenting partners, Sam Carbis Solutions Group and Smithfield, enough for their generosity,” Darlington Raceway President Chip Wile said. “Their contributions to our Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Car Show have helped grow it into one of the Pee Dee’s premier events. It is an event that our local community enjoys and we couldn’t do it without their support.”
Sam Carbis Solutions Group is a Florence, S.C. based company that continues to support a number of community events at Darlington Raceway.
One of the world’s foremost leaders in making fall protection equipment, Sam Carbis Solutions Group is in its second year as presenting sponsor of the Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Car Show. The group is also a presenting sponsor of the Darlington Marathon.
Smithfield is pleased to be the official pork supplier of the Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Car Show in 2015. Smithfield has strong ties to NASCAR having served as a sponsor of Richard Petty Motorsports and the No. 43 car since 2012.
The popular brand will provide pork for all BBQ teams competing at the Speed & Feed event. Smithfield offers a variety of different pork products in most local grocery chains around the country.

The Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Car show is FREE and open to the public from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Friday, November 13 and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 14. Unlimited tastings will be available for $5 per person per day while supplies last.
The BBQ cook-off will again be sanctioned by the South Carolina BBQ Association, one of the premier BBQ organizations in the country, and feature some of the top cook teams in the region. The teams will be vying to win the coveted $2,500 first-place prize, while also earning a spot in the World Food Championships.
Additionally, the two-day car show will feature an open show of cars and trucks on display for enthusiasts. Participants will have the opportunity to make a lap around the famous 1.366-mile raceway on Friday night under the lights.
A free movie night featuring the motion picture “Grease” will take place in the famed Sprint Cup Series garage on Friday night at 7 p.m. On Saturday the track will have a concert by Dillon, South Carolina’s own Terry Powers and BAD ALIBI from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.
