Sunny Meadow Boutique Relocates and Expands on the Square in Laurens
July 21, 2025A Fresh Look, More Space, and Even More to Love for Local Families
Sunny Meadow Boutique has officially opened the doors to its new, larger location at 115 E Laurens Street on the Square in downtown Laurens. With nearly triple the space of its previous storefront, the boutique has expanded not only in size but also in offerings, cementing its place as a destination for clothing, gifts, photography, and more.
More Than a Children’s Store
“We’re no longer just a children’s store,” said owner Shannon Walker. “We’ve grown and evolved with the needs of our customers. This move was necessary to give us room to expand and serve the community in new ways.”
The expansion allows Sunny Meadow to offer a broader range of children’s clothing, now from preemie to size 12/14, with a reorganized layout to make that clear to shoppers. “So many people walk in, see the baby clothes and think that’s all we carry,” said Walker. “We’ve brought our tween lines front and center so customers can see we truly have something for babies to big kids.”
Preserving History While Creating Space
Walker was intentional about maintaining the historic charm of the new space. “It was important to me to preserve the historical integrity of the building,” she said. “We used freestanding racks and creative merchandising solutions to avoid damaging the walls. It’s been a fun challenge to create a beautiful, functional store while respecting the building’s history.”
While the move has gone smoothly, Walker admits they’ve already filled up the larger space faster than anticipated. “That’s a good problem to have,” she laughed.
Expanded Inventory and New Brands
With the additional room, Sunny Meadow has added more to love. New product lines include The Beaufort Bonnet Company, a Southern favorite with roots right here in South Carolina, along with an expanded selection of toys, gifts, and customizable blanks for embroidery and monogramming.
“Our most popular brands continue to be PRODOH, a Greenville-founded performance wear line, and WeeOnes, our comprehensive hair bow selection,” said Walker. “PRODOH combines style and durability, and our bows are a perfect finishing touch for any outfit. We’re proud to offer local brands that align with our customers’ values and style.”
The boutique’s gift and book selections are also growing, with offerings now ranging across age groups and featuring works by local authors.
Honoring Legacy and Continuing Traditions
Sunny Meadow’s new home also carries forward a cherished local tradition. “Suellen Holmes has entrusted us to carry on the legacy of her amazing portrait photography by maintaining the photography studio space, and we will also continue to offer custom framing,” Walker shared.
Community Support Makes Growth Possible
“The response from the community has been amazing, as always,” said Walker. “Laurens is such a hometown-focused place, and none of this would be possible without that continued support.”
To celebrate, Sunny Meadow’s grand reopening will coincide with its one-year anniversary, kicking off with special events and promotions starting August 1st, and a ribbon cutting set for August 7th.
A Purpose That Continues to Grow
“What started as a little idea to get cute clothes for my grandchildren has become the honor of being a tiny part of the sweet memories and milestones of our customers,” Walker reflected. “From baby gifts and coming-home outfits to first-day-of-school frocks and family photo outfits, we get to play a part.”
Looking back on the boutique’s journey, Walker said the success speaks for itself. “I think our community has shown there was absolutely a need for a store like this here. People in Laurens appreciate being able to shop locally for what they need — and we’re proud to be part of that.”
