Susan Bryant has been named Executive Director of the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art (PIFMA).

Well-known throughout the Grand Strand and beyond, Bryant has served as the Sales and Marketing Director of PIFMA for the last 14 years. In this capacity, she handled all aspects of marketing, coordinated memberships and sponsorships, and worked closely with performers.

“I am honored to be named Executive Director,” she said. “I am confident that the Pawleys Island Festival of Music & Art will remain one of the southeast’s finest. My goal is to continue to bring cultural awareness to the Lowcountry and to secure performers that are not only audience-pleasers but those who have a passion for community outreach—especially within our school system.”

“Many people may not know that PIFMA provides materials, instruments, and arts education opportunities, including scholarships, in the Georgetown County K-12 Schools. Exposing all youth to music and the arts was the mission of Dr. Lee Minton, our founder. That remains our foundation,” Bryant continued.

Georgetown County remains at the forefront of the arts community having recently formed an Arts Alliance. “Our hope is to one day have a central Arts Center and/or Amphitheater, which will provide more space for PIFMA’s many performances, master classes, and arts education. That vision is a long-range plan, but one that I feel certain will come to fruition,” she said.

Susan Bryant takes the helm from long-time Executive Director, Delores Blount, who will now serve as Director of Finance maintaining responsibility for all financial aspects of PIFMA and its ancillary programs. Blount is credited with the tremendous growth of the Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art and its impact on the Lowcountry. “It will be hard to fill Delores’ shoes, but I will do my best,” Bryant said.
