Talented Tenth of SC to honor historic former Mayor and host young professionals conference
February 7, 2022Talented Tenth, a Columbia-based young professionals’ organization founded by City of Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin, presents the Annual Talented Tenth Conference, The 2022 SC Convening: Access. Service. Elevation. The conference, which kicks off on Friday, February 11, 2022 and runs through Saturday, February 12, 2022, will take place at Benedict College in the David H. Swinton Campus Center. Face masks are required for attendance at this event.
The conference will offer opportunities to engage youth in the Midlands and surrounding areas as they become future leaders. Attendees will gain tools needed in career and resume development, personal finance, entrepreneurship, and other professional development areas related to being a part of the emerging Generation Z workforce.
“We are looking forward to the opportunity to strategize and connect Columbia’s leading professionals with members of the community in an informal setting,” states Kara Simmons, Talented Tenth SC board chair.
Speakers for the Talented Tenth Conference, The 2022 Convening, include Alisha and Jordan Giles, Michelle Edmonson, Darryl Boyles, Rania Jamison, James Ross, and Darius Johnson.
