Target expands Baby Retail strategy with new experience at Greenville, Simpsonville stores

March 6, 2026

Retailers across the country are rethinking how they merchandise baby products, and Target is introducing a new in-store concept designed to meet the evolving needs of young families.

The company recently announced the rollout of “Baby Boutique,” a redesigned shopping experience that will debut in nearly 200 Target stores nationwide. In the Upstate, the concept is launching at locations in Greenville and Simpsonville.

The move reflects a broader shift in consumer behavior. Industry data shows parents now spend significantly more time researching baby products than most other retail categories, often comparing multiple brands and features before purchasing major items like strollers, car seats, and monitors.

Target’s new format is designed to make that process easier by organizing baby products into a more interactive retail environment where customers can evaluate products in person and receive guidance before making a purchase.

The company is also expanding its baby assortment with nearly 2,000 additional items, including the introduction of premium brands that have not previously been widely available through Target. Those brands include UPPAbaby, Bugaboo, Stokke, and Doona, companies known for high-end infant gear.

As part of the initiative, Target is introducing a Baby Concierge service, allowing customers to book free consultations with trained staff who can help parents navigate key purchases such as car seats, nursery equipment, and baby monitors.

The expanded assortment also includes several new national brands entering Target’s baby category, including Joie, Nanit, Amara, Tubby Todd, and Little Spoon.

For the Upstate market, the concept is now available at the Target store located at 1112 Woodruff Rd in Greenville and the Target store at 694 Fairview Rd in Simpsonville, both of which are among the first South Carolina locations to feature the new format.

Company leaders say the goal of the redesign is to create a more intuitive shopping experience while strengthening Target’s position in one of retail’s most research-driven product categories.
