TD Bank promotes Marcel Summermatter to Regional Vice President, Commercial Banking, Upstate South Carolina

TD Bank announced that Marcel Summermatter has been promoted to Regional Vice President of Commercial Banking for Upstate South Carolina, overseeing relationships across commercial and small business banking.
As Regional Vice President, Summermatter will manage the full spectrum of commercial banking activities in the Upstate of South Carolina and help the team leverage expertise in business analysis and emerging trends to support clients with tailored financial solutions. He also will serve as a key face of TD Bank in the community while driving profitable growth of deposits and commercial loans to increase overall market share. Summermatter is based in Greenville, S.C and most recently served as TD Bank’s Team Lead for Commercial Banking in Upstate South Carolina.

Summermatter brings over 20 years of experience in financial services and has held leadership roles across Middle Market, Commercial and Small Business. In 2024, he received the TD Bank CEO Leadership Award, recognizing the top 1% of leaders across North America. In 2025, he completed the TD Senior Manager Impact Program, a capstone on AI and leadership by the University of Toronto focused on shaping future banking innovations.
Outside of TD Bank, Summermatter currently serves as Chair of the European American Chamber of Commerce – Carolinas, fostering transatlantic trade and investment. Summermatter is a graduate of Leadership Miami, Leadership Greenville, and Leadership South Carolina, and actively supports non-profit initiatives. Originally from Switzerland, he speaks four languages and has lived in the U.S. for over 25 years.
