Because the G-Sport cooks with 100 percent infrared energy, there is no hot air to dry out food, so food retains more of its own natural juices, said Bill Best, CEO. Even well-done meats remain tender and juicy, he said.
On low fire it smokes (200 degrees F), on high fire it sears (800 degrees F), and large pieces of meat cook to perfection without a rotisserie. By eliminating the hot air associated with grilling, this grill also prevents flare-up that creates charring of food that has been linked to cancer in recent medical studies.
As a permanent grill on a stand, the G-Sport comes with an optional pedestal base designed for easy assembly. Designed to be used with a 20 lb. LP gas tank, the G-Sport can be converted for natural gas use with a TEC(R) conversion kit and provides fuel efficient, green grilling.
And because the volume of CO2 emitted by a burner is directly proportionate to the amount of fuel consumed, CO2 emissions are also reduced by more than 50 percent, Best said.
When Best developed the first gas-powered infrared burner in the early 1960s, his company, Thermal Engineering Corporation, utilized this new technology to build large ovens and paint systems for the automobile industry.
