Ten Years of Curtain Calls: Mauldin Theatre Company Marks a Decade on Stage
March 25, 2026Ten years ago, Mauldin didn’t have a community theatre company. Today it has one of the most active stages in the Upstate — and the Mauldin Theatre Company is about to celebrate that fact in style.
The company is hosting its Season Reveal Gala, titled “Legacy in Light,” to mark a full decade of productions, performers, and partnerships at the Mauldin Cultural Center. The evening doubles as the official unveiling of the 2026-27 season lineup, giving patrons their first look at the productions headed to the stage in the year ahead.
The gala is designed to feel like the milestone it is. Guests will arrive to a pre-show reception with charcuterie by Gaze N Gather and beverages from Growler Haus, followed by the formal program — which will include live performances, a look back at highlights from the past ten seasons, and the much-anticipated season announcement. Tickets are $30.
What began as a modest addition to the Mauldin Cultural Center’s programming has grown into something considerably more significant. The center now hosts nearly 30,000 visitors and over 1,000 events annually, with the theatre company serving as one of its signature draws. The current 2025-26 season, themed “A Blank Canvas Awaits: Season of Transformation,” has featured productions ranging from the Prince of Egypt to Rent, with the youth company running alongside it — a parallel pipeline of young performers getting their first taste of live theatre.
For a city that has grown as fast as Mauldin, the theatre company represents something that development alone can’t deliver: a reason to gather, a shared experience, a sense of cultural identity. A decade in, that’s exactly what it has become.
