The Beach Company announces eight new hires

Patterson Farmer has been hired as director of business development at Gulf Stream Construction, a Beach Company subsidiary and full-service general site contractor specializing in civil construction and infrastructure. In this role, Farmer will be responsible for planning, developing and executing the overall business development and engagement strategy for Gulf Stream Construction in Charleston and Savannah, as well as cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, identifying business opportunities and leveraging the company’s reputation to attract customers. Originally from Myrtle Beach, S.C., Farmer earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Clemson University and is a professional engineer. Prior to this role, Farmer served as manager of land development at Pulte for over two years.
Ryan DeYoung has been hired as vice president, controller and treasurer at The Beach Company. In this role, DeYoung will oversee the company’s accounting, reporting and treasury functions. Originally from Michigan, DeYoung earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Michigan University. Prior to this role, DeYoung held key roles in corporate financial planning & analysis and as controller at Core Spaces in Chicago.
Jenna Suls has been hired as digital marketing associate and content creator at The Beach Company. In this role, Suls will be responsible for developing and overseeing content across various digital channels, coordinating with internal departments to create branded marketing collateral, producing high-quality social media videos and maintaining the company’s websites. Originally from New Hampshire, Suls earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications from the University of Alabama. Prior to this role, Suls served as marketing manager and social media coordinator at Brandon Lawn Real Estate for three years.
Maddie Patrick has been hired as event coordinator at Kiawah River, a waterfront community on Johns Island, S.C. In this role, Patrick will be responsible for the planning and execution of private, resident and annual marketing and sales events, as well as maintaining resident communication and vendor relationships. Originally from Virginia, Patrick earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from The College of Charleston. Prior to this role, Patrick served as an intern with Fox Events.
Graham Vaughn has been hired as senior financial reporting and investor accountant at The Beach Company. In this role, Vaughn will be responsible for monthly and quarterly financial statement consolidations, reporting and investor and partnership distributions and allocations. Originally from Myrtle Beach, S.C., Vaughn served as senior associate at GreerWalker CPAs and Advisors for four years.
Samantha Szymanski has been hired as general manager of The Spring House, Kiawah River’s riverfront swim and fitness club. In this role, Szymanski will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and facility maintenance. Originally from Michigan, Szymanski earned her bachelor’s degree in hospitality business at Michigan State University. Prior to this role, Szymanski served as assistant food and beverage manager at Sea Island Resort.
Virginia Benke has been hired as director of food and beverage at The Spring House, Kiawah River’s riverfront swim and fitness club, where she will oversee all culinary and beverage-related operations. Originally from Dallas, Texas, Benke earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature and creative writing from Baylor University and an associate degree in culinary arts from The Art Institute of Dallas. Benke brings 40 years of expertise in food and beverage, having worked with renowned companies such as Gaylord Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Marriott and Omni Hotels.
Hannah Curcuru has been hired as senior corporate accountant at The Beach Company. In this role, Curcuru will oversee the company’s corporate financials and manage key accounting functions, including budgeting, reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations. Originally from Atlanta, Curcuru earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from The University of Georgia. Prior to this role, Curcuru served as senior property accountant at Greenleaf Management and as an accounts receivable and appeals specialist at Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP.
