The City of Columbia’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement recognizes teen dating violence awareness month with youth-focused prevention event
February 3, 2026WHO: City of Columbia Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement
WHAT: February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and the City of Columbia’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (ONSE) remains committed to raising awareness and promoting prevention efforts that support the safety, well-being, and empowerment of young people across our community.
As part of this observance, the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement will host a Teen Dating Violence Awareness event designed for adolescents ages 14 to 20. This youth-focused event will engage participants through interactive and engaging activities centered on conflict resolution, healthy relationships, decision-making skills, identifying and avoiding high-risk situations, and teen dating violence awareness and prevention. The goal of the event is to equip young people with practical tools and knowledge they can apply in real-life situations while encouraging healthy communication, informed choices, and safer relationships.
Registration for this event is currently closed. The Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement appreciates the strong interest and encourages community members to stay connected for future youth-focused prevention and education opportunities.
This initiative reflects the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement’s ongoing commitment to prevention, education, and collaboration with community partners to help create safer and more supportive environments for youth throughout the City of Columbia.
