The Cliffs names Corbett Rourk executive chef of The Cliffs at Glassy
January 22, 2019The Cliffs is pleased to announce Chef Corbett Rourk has been named executive chef of The Cliffs at Glassy, located just outside Greenville. In this role he leads the culinary program at Glassy and joins the ranks of six fellow executive Chefs across The Cliffs’ seven communities.
With more than 25 years of culinary experience, Rourk has worked with numerous restaurants, private clubs and resorts. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Rourk discovered his passion for cooking at a young age. While in high school, he learned from Chef Mike Pappas, a renowned local restaurateur who opened the Colony House and Poogan’s Porch and worked for the Aristotle Onassis family.
Rourk is a graduate of the prestigious Greenbrier Culinary Apprentice Program at The Greenbrier in West Virginia. After graduating from the program, he worked in various roles at The Greenbrier, including banquet chef de cuisine from 2013 – 2015. Throughout his career he has worked with many notable establishments, such as The Landings Club in Savannah, Georgia; Palmetto Hall Plantation in Hilton Head, South Carolina; and the Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Through the years Rourk has received several American Culinary Federation (ACF) awards and won the 2011 South Carolina Seafood Challenge. Rourk is also known for his artistic ice carving.
